RCC looks to foster an environmentally sustainable future with the following initiatives;
RCC is a member of World Built Environment Forum explores routes to progressive change in the built and natural environment and is driven by the collective expertise of our stakeholders.
RCC support the development of tools and database to understand the whole life carbon assessment for the built environment.
Reducing carbon emissions also contributes to limiting resource depletion and reducing pollution. Sizeable carbon emissions arising from the built environment are attributable not only to the use of built assets – operational emissions – but also to their construction – embodied emissions. Providing Clients with the option to develop existing and new buildings to meet the current environmental needs. Through the use of LEED, BREEAM, SKA Rating, CASBEE, EU Ecolabel and the support of the design team to guide clients.
RCC look to advise clients on the operational emissions result from energy consumption in the day-to-day running of a property, embodied emissions arising from producing, procuring, and installing the materials and components that make up a structure.
Current issues relating to Grenfell Tower need to be added to the discussion, as meeting lower greenhouse emissions with laminated paper cladding (High Pressure Laminate) and combustible insultation can ultimately lead to not only health risks but expensive rebuild costs both financially and environmentally.
RCC supports the environmental press by identifying key indicators in the choice of suppliers, contractors, materials and management processes at the start of the project. Clients and consultants have KPI’s to direct the choices and direction a project takes regarding the environmental impact.
RCC is a member of the RICS Building Carbon Database, contributing to and accessing carbon impact on the built environment.

We look to a policy of sustainable development, that being “development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. Brundtland Commission.
Sustainability is the convergence of three distinct areas:
• Environmental
• Social
• Economic
Within each area, we have specific goals and targets.
We recognise the importance of delivering an affordable and sustainable service to our clients in the Construction sectors of the Industry.
Providing improvements in the quality of life and of the environment with the procedures to act in a responsible way that recognises the needs of future generations by acquiring materials through responsible sourcing and taking all reasonable efforts to minimise resultant waste in the process.
We recognise the effect our works may have on parties especially neighbours adjacent to works being carried out and endeavour to mitigate the nuisance that they might experience in the process of carrying out such works.
Delivery of Product, we will

Care of the Environment, we will:
• Accurately measure material quantities to avoid unnecessary Waste and Pollution
• Provide training of our operatives to enable controlled containment in the event of a contamination incident whosoever may be responsible

• Take all measures to ensure that the work face and task requested to undertake, have been given sufficient review to ensure all aspects of the work are conducted in a safe environment with correct personal safety equipment to carry out the work.
